Barry Copeland, CPA – Audit Specialist for Government Contracts

Mr. Copeland is a CPA with more than 20 years of experience auditing contractors’ price proposals, termination proposals, forward pricing proposals, incurred costs, post award pricing, defective pricing and other government proposals that can end up in audit situations. He also has extensive experience with governmental accounting, estimating, budgeting and MMAS systems. As a government program analyst, Mr. Copeland has implemented Earned Value Management (EVM) systems for major programs at the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), earning several awards along the way.

Mr. Copeland is a former Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA) auditor and supervisor. He has first-hand knowledge of what costs and cost categories DCAA targets in its audits. He can help contractors who are just beginning in federal government contracting to structure their accounting in a manner to segregate allowable costs from unallowable to facilitate the computation of the contractor’s direct and indirect costs.
