Construction Contractors Face Up To Pitfalls in Federal Projects

Kendall-Dinielli Consulting.comIndian Harbour Beach, FL (July 2011) - 50 construction contractors met recently in Puerto Rico to be briefed on the pitfalls involved in undertaking federal construction projects.

The AGC (Associated General Contractors of America) is the leading national organization for construction firms and regarded as the “voice and choice” for the construction industry.

Currently Puerto Rico is receiving more federal funding for construction projects, and more construction firms therefore find themselves wrestling with the complexities of federal work. When the Puerto Rico Chapter of AGC wanted to bring their members up to speed on the pitfalls to avoid they turned to construction consultant Jay N. Dinielli, Senior Vice President with Kendall-Dinielli Construction Consultants, and an acknowledged expert in the field of federal contracts.

“There were two sides to the coin here” said Jay. “On the one hand I wanted everyone to be aware of the pitfalls so they can avoid them in the first place. On the other hand it’s also important to be aware of the remedies available when problems do arise”.

During his address he brought attendees up to date on the provisions and application of FAR’S (the Federal Acquisition Regulations.

The address was well received and participants raised a number of practical questions. “I was glad to help out” says Jay, “and I was particularly happy to advise on some of the individual questions that people brought to me during a solid hour afterwards”.

Jay N. Dinielli is Senior Vice President with Kendall-Dinielli Construction Consultants. He has over 30 years’ experience in the construction field, both in the public and private sectors, as a Project Manager, Superintendent and Contractor’s Quality Control (CQC) Manager.
